- Go to the control panel & click on it to open
- Click on Hardware & Sound option in the Control Panel window
- Click on the Devices & printers option in the Hardware & Sound menu
- You can see the list of external devices which are connected to your PC in the Devices & printers window
- Here in the Devices & Printers menu click on add a printer option
- As and when you on click on add a printer option, your PC or Laptop will start searching, if there are any printers connected already.
- For example if a printer is already connected then it will display. Here we are trying to connect a printer for the first time so click on the Printer that I want not listed option and hit the next button.
- Now the system will lead you to the find a printer by other options menu
- Click Add a Local printer or Network Printer with Manual settings option
- Now select the use an existing port from choose printer port window and click the next button
